NEGAUNEE -- The City of Negaunee saluted fallen soldiers this Memorial Day with a parade and ceremony.  More than a 100 people lined Iron Street Monday morning to see the military parade.  The procession featured service members from various branches of the military, the Negaunee City Band, and the Negaunee Fire Department.

Negaunee's VFW Post hosted a special ceremony at the Negaunee cemetery honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

"All of the people that live in Negaunee can come out and support the persons who gave their last devoted measure to the country," said Tom Stanaway of the VFW.

"Significance of today is to honor all our veterans who have served, both living and who've passed away," said Rollin Johnson event Master of Ceremonies.

The parade and the ceremony honored veterans from all wars, but both events paid special tribute to World War II veterans.
