MARQUETTE CO. -- The excitement is building for the Model A Convention in Marquette County next month.
To date, nearly 900 people have signed up to attend the weeklong event, including 323 Model A cars. Organizers from the Marquette Country Convention and Visitor's Bureau say attendees are in for a treat.
"It's just going to be a great time, and people need to come out and enjoy it, and it's going to be fun to see these cities--Ishpeming, Negaunee and Marquette--with all these old cars driving up and down on the roads. That's something you don't get to see very often," said Pat Black of the visitor's bureau.
A number of events are scheduled, including a parade of the classic cars in Ishpeming and a public show at the Superior Dome. The event runs June 18 through 22.
