The program helps students relate to one another and open up about issues
ESCANABA -- It's a nationwide program about breaking down barriers in high schools, and Escanaba High School has been working for months to bring 'Challenge Day' to their students.
They've held fundraisers that included selling chocolate bars and cotton candy. The program helps students relate to one another and open up about issues. Casey Deshambo headed some of the student fundraisers. He says they're still looking to raise between $500 to $1,000.
"A lot of it is bullying, but a lot of it is just understanding the other person. It's going to be a program where students come together and they just kind of tell their feelings about their past and what's happened in their life," said Deshambo.
The program comes to the school October 2, 3, and 4.
