Two arrested in meth bust

ISHPEMING -- Two people renting an Ishpeming apartment were taken into custody by police officers during a meth bust on Tuesday evening.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, Michigan State Police, and Ishpeming Police conducted a search warrant at 129 W. Superior Street in Ishpeming at around 5 p.m.  A small amount of suspected methamphetamine was found, along with several components for a meth lab.

Robert Thurman Fields, 29, and his 30-year-old wife Nickolena Margaret Fields were taken into custody and were lodged in the Marquette County Jail.  Robert Fields is being charged with two counts and Nickolena Fields was charged with one count of controlled substance, operating or maintaining laboratory involving methamphetamine.
