Sherri Erickson of Erickson Jewelers says that year-round sales are steady, but there are certain holidays that pick up the pace.
“Mother’s Day is definitely one of our busier holidays--a lot of people like to treat mom with a special gift, and jewelry is definitely a special gift to give mom,” says Sherri.
Although jewelry can be pricey, Sherri had a number of affordable gifts, like a stainless steal necklace with interchangeable pendants starting at $29.
If mom isn’t a jewelry person, sometimes simple can be the most sentimental, like taking her out for a nice meal. Maple Creek restaurant in Iron Mountain is offering a breakfast brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $10.99 and then a dinner buffet from 2 to 7 p.m. for $12.99. Many restaurants throughout the U.P. will be offering similar deals, as well.
Out of all the gift ideas from the mothers, the most common response was to spend time with their loved ones.
