SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY -- One of the snowmobilers involved in an incident that led to a Schoolcraft County Sheriff Deputy being struck by a sled has been sentenced.

Dawson Gray, 19, was sentenced in Schoolcraft County court on Thursday.  Gray was involved in the snowmobiling incident that took place on Trail 8 in Hiawatha Township on January 21.

Gray was charged with attempted assault and resisting and obstructing a police officer.

He received 12 months in jail, with seven months to be served right now.  He has been credited for 17 days.  He was also sentenced under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, which means the record can be expunged if he stays out of trouble.
