MARQUETTE -- NMU archaeology students are showing off their hard work for the next five months.

The "Scattered in the Wind" exhibit displays the history of Beaver Island, the biggest island in Lake Michigan.  They have historic artifacts from the early 1800s, donated from the Marquette Regional History Center.

Students have been working on the exhibit for the entire semester and tried to convey what island life is like in the Great Lakes.

"As their professor, I'm incredibly proud of them.  They've gone from doing research at the very beginning of the semester to actually physically putting it into something real that people can enjoy, and it's giving them hands-on learning," said NMU Professor, Scott J. Demel.

The exhibit will be on display through September.
