FORSYTH TOWNSHIP -- A Gwinn man was taken to the Marquette County Jail on Monday night, charged with domestic violence, third offense.

Corey Lemieux, 32, is charged in the assault of a 70-year-old woman and also a male victim.  The 70-year-old woman was taken to Marquette General Hospital for her injuries, but the man did not need medical attention.

A Forsyth Township police officer was called to the residence on Koski Lane, where the assault was already in progress.

Lemieux then struggled with the officer, but a neighbor stepped in to help.   Lemieux is also charged with resisting and obstructing an officer.

If convicted of the crimes, Lemieux could get two years in prison.
