EWEN-TROUT CREEK -- Ewen-Trout Creek Schools closed early on Monday after a small fire happened in the school.
School officials say the emergency issue arose, causing the school to close at 12:30 p.m.
The fire, which officials say may have been set on purpose, was in a bathroom trash can. There was not much smoke, but the sprinkler system was set off and did its job. There was water in the hallway and it spread to four or five classrooms in the elementary school area.
There are 240 students at the school, and there were no injuries. Classes will continue as usual on Tuesday.
School officials have leads on who may have caused the fire.
