GWINN -- Update 2:36 p.m.: Authorities say they've managed to control the forest fire that broke out in Gwinn Sunday afternoon.
Officials from the DNR say the 6.2 acre fire apparently started when a four-wheeler was stopped over dry land with mechanical problems. Authorities had a fire-spotting plane in the air at the time because of the dry conditions, and it saw the blaze.
It started around 2:30 p.m. in a wooded area around Iron Pin Road, south of Gwinn. Five DNR units and the Forsyth Township Fire Department were on scene. There are no nearby homes affected or evacuations being reported at this time.
