HOUGHTON -- Michigan Tech's Board of Control members have not passed a budget for the upcoming school year.

MTU's President Glenn Mroz says the board will wait until a state budget is passed because tuition, tuition caps, and other requirements in the state legislature have not been approved.

"At this point and time, we'd really like to see some of that get resolved, and I think that's going to happen as the bills go to conference and people work that out in Lansing," said Mroz.

Mroz says a special meeting will be held on June 21 to pass the university's budget.  The board approved a new and safer ID card system for students, and students will see an increase in the student activity fee to help support various events held on campus.

On Saturday, Michigan Tech will hold its spring graduation ceremony with 854 undergraduate students and 199 master's and PhD students receiving their diplomas.
