Michigan Tech University students are on the move as the MTU Mobile Hybrid Electric Vehicle Laboratory is in Washington, DC Tuesday.

This is for the second USA Science and Engineering Festival at the Washington Convention Center.  This 53-foot trailer includes two complete powertrain test cells, four universal lab stations for bench top experiments, and classroom equipment.

As part of the DC stop, the team from Tech, including students and professors, were welcomed to the nation's capitol by U.S. Senator Carl Levin on Tuesday morning.  The lab was funded by a three million dollar Department of Energy grant, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

As part of the festival, this mobile lab will be open to the public this weekend where visitors will be able to learn more about the options of green energy.
