MARQUETTE -- A kickball tournament Sunday attracted a crowd and helped a cause along the way.

Organizers, along with the Marquette Lions Club, held a fundraiser to help leader dogs for the blind in the community.  Dozens of teams competed with just a $10 fee per person.  The money will go to help support leader dogs for the blind.

Organizers say they need all the help they can get.

"These dogs do such amazing things and they are literally the eyes and sometimes the ears for the people, and they do these amazing things, and they have to go through so much training and the people have to pay so much for it, so helping in any way we can, really, is just the best," said Sarah Juday, tournament organizer.

It costs more than $30,000 to fund a single dog.
