Bowl for Kids Sake is Big Brothers and Big Sisters' fundraiser in which teams pledge to raise money for the organization
ISHPEMING -- The 22nd annual Bowl for Kids Sake kicked off in Ishpeming Saturday, and organizers say so far the fundraising appears to be a success.
Bowl for Kids Sake is Big Brothers and Big Sisters' fundraiser in which teams pledge to raise money for the organization. The money goes toward funding the travel and staff costs associated with matching children and mentors. The organization says this effort is more important now than ever because there is a list of kids waiting to be matched.
"They've gone through the process, they're considered ready to be matched. So it's really important to them and their family that we get them matched up as quickly as we can," said Executive Director Jayne Letts.
The fundraiser continues next Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Marquette. There are still spots for teams available. For more information, contact the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization at (906) 475-7801.
