MARQUETTE -- A new exhibit at the Peter White Public Library is sending a positive message.

Filmmaker John Major has brought some photos from his trip to Antarctica back to his native Marquette. The film and photos contrast the harsh climate of Antarctica with the urban struggles of life in inner city Detroit. Major hopes that people will see the positive message from life in these difficult areas.

"we really tried to focus a lot on the people in both places and really try to capture some of the desires to overcome and to never give up and never say no," said Filmmaker John Major.

Major hopes to have the film completed later this summer. His exhibit will be at the Peter White Public Library through the month of April.
