Road floods in Ontonagon County

ONTONAGON COUNTY -- A section of M-64 in Ontonagon County is closed as of Monday night because of a beaver.

The stretch of M-64 is between Bergland and Silver City was flooded out.  According to the Michigan Department of Transportation officials, a beaver dam blocked the culvert beneath the highway, about five miles north of Bergland, causing the water to rise.

The beaver dam has since been removed and repair has begun on the culvert.  Crews expect to have the road open again for traffic on Thursday.
