HOUGHTON -- It was the Copper Country Relay for Life kick-off event on Monday.
This year there is a sports theme titled “Score One for a Cure,” and those in attendance participated in a fun game titled Copper Country vs. Cancer.
The goal was to prove that despite how difficult cancer can be, it will never win.
“Fighting cancer is what the American Cancer Society does, and this gives everybody the opportunity to be a part of it. Whether you’re a participant on a team, whether you’re a team captain, whether you’re a sponsor, whether you’re a donor…all helps in the fight against cancer,” said Community Representative for the American Cancer Society, Carl Fulsher.
This year’s goal is to raise $100,000.
There is still plenty of time to sign up for this event which takes place June 23 and 24. If you are interested, click here.
