MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The kiln lift at the Tilden Mine overnight didn't go quite as planned.

A Cliffs Natural Resources spokesman says part of the rigging failed on one of two mobile cranes involved in the lift.  It happened while they were trying to lift a replacement section of kiln shell and riding ring.

The ring and shell were lowered to the ground after the rigging failed.  There were no injuries and no apparent damage, but there will be a delay in the repair process.

The crane company is evaluating the equipment and no time line has been set to resume the repair.
