MARQUETTE -- A U.P.-based non-profit business has the opportunity to win a grant as Starbucks will soon be launching their "Vote, Give, Grow"  program in April.

Northern Initiatives in Marquette is one of 124 non-profit organizations chosen nationwide.   It's one of four chosen in Michigan and the only one in the Upper Peninsula.

Vote, Give, Grow offers grants to businesses that help their communities.  Northern Initiatives could receive $10,000 to $35,000 depending on votes from the community.

"It's going to be great for our visibility, great to see people in the U.P. get behind us and help us be able to compete," said the President of Northern Initiatives, Dennis West.

If Northern Initiatives wins, they plan on using the money to better their involvement with Northern Michigan University students and interns.

Voting begins on April 1 and ends on April 30.  To vote, visit
 www.starbucks.com/VoteGiveGrow beginning Sunday, April 1.
