GWINN -- Gwinn Middle School students took part in a career day on Thursday afternoon.

The school hosted 20 professionals, ranging from engineers to veterinarians, who came in and showed students what they do every day.  Each student got to pick their top six presenters, and they rotated to different stations throughout the day.

The middle school teachers picked a variety of professions that require college degrees, technical schools, or specialized programs.

"It's hard as a middle-schooler to see what you're doing today, and it's hard for them to kind of envision what's going on in the future," said teacher Kristy Gollakner.  "So, for them to understand and hear from people, other than their teachers, that it's important to be on time, and it's important to do your work and do your best in these subjects is key for their success in their futures."

Next year the school plans to host 20 professions not present this year so the students can have even more options.
