Probation for man involved in fatal crash

ISHPEMING -- The Ishpeming motorist charged in a crash that left one man dead will now be serving probation.

In July of 2011 Rodney Stewart, Jr. pulled out of an Ishpeming gas station and into the path of a motorcycle.  The motorcyclist, Samuel Maata, was killed.

On February 21 Stewart plead no contest to a misdemeanor charge of a moving violation causing death.

He is on 12 months probation, will serve 40 hours of community service, and is paying fines and restitution of $1,100.
