NEGAUNEE -- At a special meeting of the Negaunee City Council held Wednesday night, three local attorneys pleaded their case to be chosen as the city's new attorney.

Former Marquette City Attorney Bonnie Hoff, Negaunee attorney Bruce Houghton, and Marquette attorney Daryl Dettmann all went before the council, facing questions regarding their background.

"We need somebody on to help us review contracts, do deeds, different things like that.  It's just a normal person that works for the city," said Negaunee City Manager, Jeff Thornton.

Discussion regarding the final decision of the council is expected at Thursday night's regular meeting of the Negaunee City Council.
