HUMBOLDT TWP. -- Alex Manov and Larisa Pavlovna Petrova-Pollard, both of Laurium were transported to the hospital Saturday morning after their Jeep slid into a semitruck.

The accident happened on US 41 in Humboldt township, where heavy snow caused terrible driving conditions.

The Marquette Sheriff's Department says Manov, the driver of the Jeep, lost control on a curve, causing his vehicle to slide sideways into the on coming semi.

Emergency crews had to extricate Petrova-Pollard.

Both occupants of the Jeep were taken to Marquette General with unknown injuries.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Authorities cited the Manov with careless driving.
