ESCANABA -- Escanaba has received very little snow all winter, but on Wednesday they weren't spared from the leap year snowstorm that blanketed the city roads, businesses, and cars.
The city snow crew plowed and salted on Wednesday and got through most of the city routes. Friday morning the snow banks will be taken to snow dumps.
The snowfall lightened up about noon and temperatures stayed in the thirties. The storm also affected businesses.
Many employees and managers did plenty of shoveling and salting.
"It's been kind of busy off and on," said CITGO Manager Wes Nygaard. "There's been a lot of plow people come in and other people. I kind of wish it would clear up real quick. It's already the end of winter."
There's still a lot of snow to keep up with for the city crew. They'll be up at 2:30 a.m. again on Thursday re-plowing the roads.
