Screened Image and Graphic Design in Marquette made more than 1,000 T-shirts for the race
MARQUETTE -- Local businesses are booming with the start of the UP 200. Screened Image and Graphic Design in Marquette has been feeling the pressure for the past month. They've made more than 1,000 T-shirts for the race. They've been in charge of UP 200 T-shirts for more than 20 years, and it's something they look forward to each February.
"We're so thankful that the UP 200 folks came through and understand how important it is for us down here in the downtown area to get that focus on the downtown. For my business, we definitely look for that contract every February," said Lorrie Hayes, the store's owner.
The shop has been making the T-shirts for about three weeks before the race. T-shirts are available at the Marquette Holiday Inn and at race checkpoints.
