IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Iron Mountain School bond issue was discussed at length Monday night at the school board meeting.
The school board wants to make some dramatic improvements and changes to the school which may include moving the seventh and eighth graders into the high school.
They've been doing research since November on upgrades that could be made. A presentation was made by O.H.M., which will be the engineer of the project, and the school board was happy with what they heard.
“It's going well,” said Tom Jayne. “We want to be diligent with the taxpayers' money, and that's why energy efficiency and security and safety are number one.”
The board plans to finalize their plans by April, and the issue will be put before the voters on August 7, 2012.
