The overwhelming majority say: yes!
ESCANABA -- Valentine's Day is traditionally considered 'a woman's holiday.' But it takes two people to make a couple.
So ladies, don't forget to ask your man what gift he wants.
Some people say the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
“Food is romance,” explains Tony Crispigna. “Food is comfort, food is love. With wonderful food, with nice music, regardless of how long they've been together, it could be a moment that could change them as a couple."
Troy Mileski isn't married yet, but he shared his gift thoughts with us.
“Typically, on Valentine's Day, I don't ask for stuff,” said Mileski. “It's more of the girl's holiday normally. But it is nice to get things. If I had to ask for something, I would like an iPad or one of the new Android tablets that are out."
Okay, so electronics are a safe bet that'll for sure be appreciated.
What do the women have planned?
“This year my husband will be receiving some skis for his snowmobile,” said newlywed Andrea Couillard. “Hopefully this doesn't air before that."
There's one place where you can find the perfect gift for just about any holiday: Sayklly's.
According to the store owner, a lot of younger guys like to buy stuffed animals for their sweethearts. But what is it that the men want for Valentine's Day? Well, a lot of people have a sweet tooth, so why not try chocolate.
The boxes of chocolate range from $3.75 up to around $38.00.
Which brings us back to the topic of food.
“I can't tell you how many people have come up to me,” Andy Crispigna, owner of Crispigna’s, explains, “and they have said that they've gotten engaged here or they asked their wife or husband to marry them here."
Whether you're just dating or happily married, many people say they appreciate a nice restaurant and the gift of time from their valentine.
