MARQUETTE -- Spirit Week is underway at Marquette Senior High School.
Students broke out their ugliest sweaters Monday. Each day of Spirit Week has a different theme leading up to the pep assembly on Friday for the winter homecoming.
The ideas for themes this week are very unique and actually come from the students themselves.
"People are encouraged to give their ideas to us, us being the student council, where we kind of decide what is chosen but we get input from people, see what they think and then we have a group vote on what days we should do," said Student Council member, Tristan Luoma.
Some of the other themes include college logo day, dress like a teacher day and fake an injury day.
The pep assembly on Friday will feature all of the winter sports teams and will conclude with the crowing of the homecoming king and queen.
The homecoming game is set for Friday night as the boys basketball team will be taking on Escanaba.
