Well it's another warmer than average and mostly sunny day. The upper level flow has been maintaining a blocking pattern, as opposed to the normal progressive pattern that we've seen most of this winter. Blocking patterns are great for allowing consistent weather. High pressure is still dominating the majority of the U.S.
Saturday's highs will be around 40 degrees with sunny skies. A few clouds are possible here and there. Winds will be very light and out of the west.
Saturday night will see a bit of a change. There is a light disturbance that will pass near the eastern U.P. This little low pressure system could bring a little bit of snow Saturday evening to late Saturday night.
Lows will be highly dependent on the cloud cover. As winds shift out of the northwest Saturday night, cloud cover will likely increase over the Keweenaw and out east with the precipitation. These areas will not get as cold, and lows will be around the mid 20s.
The western U.P. and areas bordering Wisconsin will see near clear skies with calm winds and temperatures may very well plunge to the low teens.
Super Bowl Sunday looks to be even warmer. Highs all around could easily exceed 40 as we experience lots of sunshine and a steady west wind bringing in plenty of warm Pacific air.
Sunday night will see temperatures in the upper 20s with more mostly clear skies.
The rest of the week will be more interesting weatherwise. We may see some snow on Monday into Tuesday. Models have been showing that for several days and are still persistent with some snowfall on Tuesday. There may also be some snow later in the week.
