Champion man jailed for alleged knife attack incident

ISHPEMING -- A Champion man is facing several charges after an alleged knife attack in Ishpeming.
    
According to the Ishpeming City Police, it happened this past Saturday morning at 1:40 at Hickey's Bar.
    
The Champion man, 49-year-old John Raymond Joyner, pulled a switchblade on an Ishpeming man and tried to stab him. In the scuffle, the Ishpeming man was cut but did manage to strike Joyner while others in the bar assisted him.
    
Joyner was arrested and charged with felonious assault/assault with a dangerous weapon. He is also facing two misdemeanors, malicious destruction of personal property, and possession of a switchblade.
    
Joyner remains jailed with bond set at 10 percent of $60,000.
