Michael Jestila is charged with unlawful delivery and manufacture of controlled substances

MARQUETTE -- The owner of the Backroom Obsessions store in Marquette has been arrested on drug charges.

Michael Carey Jestila was taken into custody Friday evening at his other store in Houghton.

The charges stem from a December 7 raid at his store on Front St. in Marquette. Officers confiscated numerous substances.

Jestila is now facing felony charges of unlawful delivery and manufacture of controlled substances.

According to Marquette County Prosecutor Matt Wiese, Jestila was selling banned bath salts at Backroom Obsessions.

Jestila's Marquette business was also padlocked after Judge Thomas Solka issued a temporary restraining order declaring Backroom Obsessions to be a public and common law nuisance.

Jestila is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
