IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Jig-it was held on Lake Antoine for the first time ever this past weekend.

Organizers considered it a success as there was an estimated 150 to 200 people in attendance.  Their goal was 200. They almost reached their goal despite the coldest air temperatures of the year in Iron Mountain--around 20 below zero.

"We had such a great sponsorship response in the community this year, and with those on board for next year and the addition of some more, we're just going to have a bigger and better event moving forward," said Jig-it organizer Benjamin Wood.

First prize for the event this year was $2,500.

Proceeds from the event went to the Dickinson-Iron Medical Care Access Coalition, which helps uninsured residents of the area with health care, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
