MARQUETTE -- Students and mentors from Central America are braving the snow and cold in the U.P. this week to take back some valuable lessons about entrepreneurship to their home countries.
It's part of a Young Ambassadors Exchange Program funded by the State Department hosted by Northern Michigan University's International Programs office.
Wednesday, they talked with the Upper Peninsula Children's Museums about their kid business entrepreneur program.
Hosts say the program is aimed to share American fundamentals of free enterprise with other cultures.
"The people who come here, they take ideas with them and start entire programs on their own. That's the goal, that they take the ideas and start them in their own country," said International Programs Specialist, Miriam Moeller.
The students will also have plenty of chances to experience cold weather; they'll learn to snowshoe later this week.
