MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The Marquette County Community Foundation is currently seeking proposals for grant money.

The Marquette, Ishpeming Area, and Negaunee Community funds are looking for non-profit organizations to send proposals to be considered for charitable grants.

To date, the foundation has invested over three million dollars into the community through the grant making process.

"Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply and get their applications in by April 15 of this year, and they will be reviewed by a committee and then affirmed by our board of trustees, and then we're able to cut checks out into the community," said Executive Director Carole Touchinski.

The goal of the community foundation is to encourage philanthropic investment by attracting permanent endowment funds for non-profit organizations that enhance the quality of life in the area.
