MARQUETTE -- Marquette County has a new civil counsel, and he's attorney Stephen Adamini.
On Tuesday night, the county board unanimously approved the contract for Adamini to become the board's legal counsel, and he signed the contract on Wednesday.
There was some debate over the wording of the contract and late revisions in two key sections.
Adamini spoke about his new role.
"There's so many people in the county who would have need to talk to me, and I want to give you the opportunity to walk in my office and talk to me, without having to schedule an appointment," said Adamini.
He also said he will give 20 hours a week to the Marquette County Board and will be able to advise members and answer legal questions.
Adamini was on the job Wednesday at the courthouse from 8 a.m. until noon.
Along with his county duties, he is an attorney with the Marquette law firm of Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Chilman and Greenlee.
