NEW YORK, NY -- The U.P. made an appearance on the Today Show Monday morning.
During a local weather cut-in out on the plaza, Stephanie Abrams noticed Hailee Luke of Houghton holding a sign saying "Don't Mess with the Mittens."
"If you're from Michigan, you hold your hand like this (as Abrams held her right hand thumb up) and you point to where you're from. She's from the U.P., so you have to hold it sideways like this. Where's it at, point it out, point it out, girl. Right there, Peter," said Abrams.
According to her Facebook page, Luke was in New York with her friends Jackie Rocco, Emily Rossi and Sam Barna, all of whom are also from Houghton.
