ESCANABA -- The new year is almost here, and Hereford and Hops Steakhouse and Brewpub in Escanaba is hosting New Year's Eve festivities that include a champagne toast at midnight.

They will kick things off Saturday night with a performance by Marquette band Slave to Gravity.  They'll play from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Some of the special New Year's Eve dishes include a sirloin for two for $49.95, stuffed shrimp, and a prime rib dinner.

Organizers expect a good turnout and say people should make a reservation if they want to get a table.

"At 8 p.m. we're usually slowing down.  Our dinner rush is usually from around 6-7:30 to 8 p.m.," said Bartender/Waitress Jessica Noreus.  "So by 8 p.m. everyone's going to start settling down and getting more into the party."

The party at Hereford and Hops is expected to wind down between 2 to 4 a.m. on Sunday.
