NIAGARA -- A Niagara, Wisconsin woman was killed in a traffic crash Thursday afternoon.  It happened at 1:09 p.m. on US-141 in Niagara.

The Marinette County Sheriff's Department says a car traveling northbound went out of control on the slippery road and crossed the centerline.

The car turned sideways and was struck on the passenger side door by a southbound vehicle.

The driver of the northbound car, a 61-year-old Niagara woman, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the other car, a 30-year-old Chicago man, was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Both drivers were alone in their cars.  Names are being withheld until their families are notified.

Officials say weather and road conditions were factors in the crash.
