It's been talked about for nearly ten years, and now it may finally happen.

Today the U.S. Interior Department gave the go-ahead for the Keweenaw Bay Indian community to move its Ojibwa Two Casino in Chocolay Township to the former Marquette County airport in Negaunee Township.

The Baraga-based tribe has been operating the Ojibwa Two Casino in Marquette County for 17 years.

The decision allows the tribe to move the casino to an 80-acre site at the former airport in Negaunee Township.

The tribe has already completed an environmental assessment of the land.

The decision came down Tuesday evening. There's no word yet when the tribe will actually begin the relocation process.
