Woman found guilty of unlawful imprisonment

MARQUETTE -- Karen Kirby, 62, has been found guilty of unlawful imprisonment by Judge Thomas Solka in Marquette County Circuit Court on Thursday.

The trial against Kirby, involving the unlawful imprisonment of her 32-year-old daughter in May, wrapped up on Wednesday.  She represented herself in the non-jury trial.

Judge Solka began deliberating Wednesday, but released his verdict on Thursday morning.

Kirby will be sentenced on January 20.
