MICHIGAMME TOWNSHIP -- A Michigamme Township woman is in court on Tuesday, facing charges in connection to the alleged kidnapping of her adult daughter.

Karen Kirby is representing herself in the Marquette Circuit Court trial.  She is facing charges in connection to the alleged captivity of her daughter and for the sexual assault made on her daughter.

Testifying for the prosecution was a Michigan State Police Trooper, as well as the victim's landlord and a mental health professional that worked with the victim.  Karen Kirby presented documents that she says her daughter signed concerning the religious regulations allegedly followed by both of the women.

TV6's Nikki Davidson is following Tuesday's proceedings and will have more information as it becomes available.
