MANISTIQUE -- A Gladstone woman and Plainwell man were arraigned in Schoolcraft County Circuit Court Thursday on meth lab charges.

Thirty-three-year-old Michelle Lee Sloboda and 41-year-old Danny Elliot Springer are charged with controlled substance, operating and maintaining a laboratory. Sloboda has another count of fleeing a police officer, fourth degree. Springer is also charged with assaulting, resisting, and obstructing a police officer.

Michigan State Police arrested them in October for allegedly operating a meth lab in Manistique.

"Ms. Sloboda would like to seek treatment," said her attorney Kathryn Denholm.  "She has been through the process of researching various treatment options."

Sloboda and Springer will be back in circuit court on January 19 when they will find out their sentence if they enter a plea to the charge.
