Larcenies in Houghton and Ontonagon Counties

WEST BRANCH -- The Houghton Police Department says a four day jury trial in Ogemaw County Circuit Court led to the conviction of three men believed to be responsible for larcenies in Houghton and Ontonagon Counties.

Officials say David Ritchie, 35 from Taylor, MI and Brain Green, 33 from Romulus, MI were found guilty of conducting a criminal enterprise, a 20 year felony; larceny of $20,000 or more, a 10 year felony; and larceny over $100,000 and under 200,000.

Officials also say another suspect, Fabian Loonsfoot, 31 from Baraga, MI was found guilty of larceny over $20,000 and conspiracy to commit larceny over $20,000.

A total of $65,000 of sporting goods including eight four wheelers and a boat motor were reported stolen from Houghton Power Sports last year.

Ontonagon County reported $21,000 of sporting goods reportedly stolen from Timberline Sports of Berglund.

The sentencing for all three men is set for January 11.
