MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- A car caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames on US-41 in Marquette Township this morning.

It happened after 84-year-old William Robey of Gwinn attempted to exit a driveway onto US-41 into the path of a westbound vehicle, according to the Marquette County Sheriff's Department.

That vehicle was a 1999 Chevrolet 1500 pickup driven by 33-year-old Michael Lukasis of Marquette.

No one was in or around the vehicle at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.  The fire was extinguished by Marquette Township Fire and Rescue.

Robey was cited for failure to yield right of way.  Authorities say safety belts were used, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
