ELY TWP. -- 'Running For a Reason' held an open house fundraiser Sunday. The fundraiser was held at Ely Township Hall. The open house offered merchandise from several consultants, a bake sale, and a silent auction.

All of the proceeds help two individuals suffering from cancer. Carrie Harvala and her team will be racing this January in honor of them.

"The race that I'll be running in, in honor of Becky and Roman, is the Noquemanon; it's in January. I'll be snowshoeing, and people can snowshoe or cross-country ski," said Carrie Harvala, a runner.
