Police search for hit-and-run driver

The driver was in a red pickup truck

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- The Marquette County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run accident in Marquette Township Thursday afternoon.

It happened at 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of US-41 and Commerce Drive.

Two vehicles were stopped at the light when a pickup truck rear-ended a sedan and pushed it into an SUV.

The driver of the sedan had to extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Marquette General.  The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The driver of the pickup truck drove around the two vehicles and left the scene.  Police are looking for a red pickup, possibly with white stripes.  It should have severe front end damage.

Anyone with information should contact the Marquette County Sheriff's office at 225-8435.
