GLADSTONE -- Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post are still investigating leads regarding two pet shootings in the Gladstone area this August and September.
Shannie the cat was shot in the Westridge Heights subdivision and is at the vet for a follow-up procedure.
Gayle Paquin is the owner of Max the rat terrier. She says he was shot by a high-powered pellet rifle. He, too, was on the road to recovery, until he was attacked by a neighborhood dog at the end of October.
Paquin said he had around 25 puncture wounds. But she's grateful for the cards and community support.
"It was just overwhelming. I mean, I just had to walk from the back and come in the house and sit down and take a minute, because for people to want to help you out when you're in a situation, it really made a big difference," said Paquin.
The Humane Society of the U.S. has a $2,500 reward for information leading to a capture or conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shootings.
