MUNISING -- The Munising AmericInn Hotel is collecting items to send to troops overseas Friday.

It's an easy and creative way to thank active troops for their service on Veteran's Day.

It's called the AmericInn Cares Program, and it's a widespread outreach that will touch the lives of thousands of soldiers across the world.  Locals can bring the items they wish to donate to the Munising AmericInn anytime during business hours.

There is no limit on what can be brought in, and don't worry about the packaging.

"I'm addicted to photography, and I thought it'd be neat to send a camera to a troop so they could document their stay at their stations and have those memories for a lifetime," said Tom Doloskie of the Alger Chamber of Commerce.

Everything will be packaged and shipped off Friday at the Munising AmericInn, so be sure to drop off your items before then.
