MARQUETTE -- The Marquette City Police Department recently partnered with a national organization to provide residents with information about crime in their area.

Simply go to the Crime Reports website to see what kind of crimes and how many have occurred in your neighborhood.

Crime Reports work with thousands of police departments across the nation.  The site shows the location of any responses made by police and is updated directly from Marquette City Police Department's database.

The goal of the site is to provide residents with as much information possible so they can protect themselves.

"You can see the crime trends that are happening in your neighborhood and maybe take precautions to prevent them:  putting bicycles away under lock and key in the garage or locking your cars and homes on a regular basis," said Det. Gordon Warchock of the Marquette City Police Department.

You can log on to the website and type in your address to see what is happening in your neighborhood.  You can also sign up for email alerts for any new crimes in your area.
