IRON MOUNTAIN -- The TV6 Canathon drive kicked off Monday.
For nearly 30 years, people across the U.P. have been chipping in to help feed a hungry neighbor.
The Canathon drive helps stock food pantry shelves, like this one in Iron Mountain, just in time for the holiday season.
The Saint Vincent de Paul pantry would be grateful for any type of canned good.
Donations stay local.
You can drop all canned goods at the dock at Saint Vincent de Paul every morning at 9 a.m., but it's not only food that's in dire need.
"Shampoos, toilet paper is a very big item, and you know, one of the biggest things that really help us, because we belong to a food bank through Ishpeming, Michigan, is monetary donations," said Carole Waitrovich of the Grace Baptist Church.
